2026 marks the beginning of the 70th-anniversary commemoration of the "Golden Triangle"—Yam Kim-fai (Y), Pak Suet-sin (P), and Tong Tik-sang (T). Inspired by this legendary trio, the "Dream-Seeking Series" embarks on a creative, cross-disciplinary exploration of the human spirit, encompassing six distinct projects... The theatrical concert *Revisiting Hong Kong Musicals* traces a lineage centered on the figure of Bai Suzhen—the serpent spirit who assumes human form to pursue love and her dreams. This narrative thread connects three pivotal works: the 1961 production *A New Tale of the White Snake* (the final collaboration of the Yam-Pak-Tong trio); Rebecca Pan’s 1972 *Madame White Snake* (Hong Kong’s first Chinese-language musical); and Roman Tam’s 1982 *The Legend of the White Snake* (the first Cantopop musical). Beyond the stage, these works represent half a century of aspirations—the tireless efforts of generations to bring Hong Kong musicals to life, reflecting the real-life journeys of those who dared to chase their dreams. High-quality creative work does not always guarantee box-office success. In March 1972, after watching Rebecca Pan’s *Madame White Snake*, Bruce Lee remarked that it was a fine production that had arrived a decade or more too early—the audience simply wasn't ready. On July 20 of the following year, the "King of Kung Fu" passed away suddenly at the age of 32. "As long as the journey of life remains unfinished, one might mistakenly believe the road ahead is endless." Those who arrive ahead of their time often walk a lonely path. The world may not understand, the market may not accept, and even peers might dismiss them as fools. Yet, it is precisely because some are willing to take that first small step that those who follow find a world of boundless possibility. Behind every dream lies a group of people who refused to give up. *Revisiting Hong Kong Musicals* is neither a retrospective of fifty years of hits nor a mere exercise in adulation. Instead, it is an invitation to explore the beautiful dreams of others, to dream a dream of one’s own, and—having set the alarm—to wake up at just the right moment. It is a look at those who arrived too soon, and how, long before the applause ever began, they chose to believe. The songs on stage serve as both the imprint and the dreams of Hong Kong musical theatre. Through a montage—woven from light and shadow, the performances of actors, and the choreography of the stage—a "Neverland" takes shape for those who arrive early, waiting to encounter those yet to come...
